Golyn Ecosystem

The Infrastructure Behind My Work

Golyn began as the Go server behind this portfolio: a personal project created to serve my applications securely and give me full control over the infrastructure supporting my work. As more projects began to depend on it, Golyn evolved into a production-ready, multi-site platform built around security, predictable performance and long-term maintainability.

Security has always been part of its architecture rather than a final layer added before deployment. Golyn consistently achieves an A+ rating on SSL Labs, follows OWASP security practices, and completed OWASP ZAP active scans with no vulnerabilities identified within the tested scope.

As its responsibilities grew, the platform began evolving into focused components with clearer boundaries. Golyn Falcon now handles edge delivery, reverse proxying and application protection. Golyn Wolf provides secure, reusable and multi-tenant identity. Acacia supports both through low-overhead structured logging and telemetry, sensitive-data protection and OpenTelemetry compatibility.

Golyn Falcon

EDGE GATEWAY

Protects and routes traffic

A high-performance edge gateway built in Go.

Golyn Falcon is the entry point at the edge of the system. It handles routing, TLS, static delivery, resilience, and security policies before traffic reaches internal services.

Key Capabilities: TLS · Reverse Proxy · Routing · Static Delivery · Security · Rate Limiting · Resilience · Compression · Observability

Role: Falcon protects and routes traffic. It sits at the public boundary of the system while keeping identity concerns separated from the edge.

Golyn Wolf

IDENTITY & ACCESS PLATFORM

Manages identity and access

A multi-tenant identity platform for secure authentication and authorization.

Golyn Wolf is an identity provider designed to centralize authentication, authorization, and identity across applications and services.

Key Capabilities: OAuth 2.0 · OpenID Connect · PKCE · Sessions · JWT · JWKS · MFA · Roles · Permissions · Multi-tenancy

Role: Wolf manages identity and access while remaining independent from Falcon. Applications and services can rely on it as a dedicated identity authority.

Acacia Logger

STRUCTURED LOGGING LIBRARY

Makes systems observable

A high-performance structured logging library for Go.

Acacia is a reusable structured logging library built for production systems, with a focus on performance, reliability, and operational safety.

Key Capabilities: Structured Events · Typed API · Backpressure · Redaction · Rotation · Sync · Lifecycle · Low Overhead

Role: Acacia can be used by Falcon, Wolf, or any other Go service. It provides common logging infrastructure without owning application business logic or acting as a central visualization platform.

“Golyn did not simply become a bigger server. It became a clearer architecture.”

About

I'm human, just a human

Me

Just having fun in life! 😄

Hi! I'm Juan, and as you've probably guessed, first and foremost, I'm human. I love music, animals, video games, and sports. I competed at a high level in Chile and spent years teaching the discipline I'm most passionate about: Taekwondo.

People say I'm a nice guy, especially if my day starts with a good cup of coffee. If not... well, let's just say I might choose the path of violence 🤣.

In everyday life, I'm a bit of a nerd. I'm always looking for something new to do, learn, question, or explore. I like reading, understanding how things work, and forming my own opinions. For example, Forrest Gump is undoubtedly the best movie ever made, and cats are definitely better than dogs. Want to discuss it? Sorry... my cat won't allow me.

Oh! I almost forgot... I love programming!

Professional

Balancing creativity with professionalism

I'm a Software Engineer with a healthy combination of logic, creativity... and coffee. I've worked on projects for both public and private organizations, building everything from backend services, databases, and web applications to infrastructure, real-time systems, and complete products.

Today, I work mainly with Go, PostgreSQL, React, TypeScript, JavaScript, Docker, and Linux, along with tools like Splunk and Grafana for monitoring and observability. Over the years, I've also worked with MySQL, Scala, Python, Cloudera, Flutter, and many other technologies. But I don't really define myself by a stack. Tools change. Understanding systems, solving problems, and building things the right way matters much more to me.

I enjoy following data through a system, understanding how every part connects, finding simple solutions to complex problems, and writing code that is clear and easy to maintain. And yes... sometimes I break things on purpose just to understand them better. I'm always learning and experimenting with new ideas, tools, and technologies. And when I can't find the tool I need, sometimes I just build my own.

Beyond code, I value teamwork, sharing what I know, responsibility, and never forgetting the human side behind technology.

Oh! Right... I didn't mention AI. But don't worry, it's there 😉.
